We, at FAYLA, believe that one of the most concerning statistics regarding bullying in the U.S. lies in the vast amount of incidents that go unreported. According to the Journal of Experimental Criminology, an analytical review conducted to test the effectiveness of school-based programs in reducing bullying behavior resulted in only 20 to 30% of bullying victims reporting their experience.
It is FAYLA's goal to bring awareness and education to schools and communities
regarding the effects of this epidemic, in an effort to teach others, both young and old, how to prevent and overcome bullying.
By improving school programs and building self-esteem in young people at an early age, FAYLA can work to achieve their goal.
